Monensin Sodium 30% is a premix-type feed additive containing monensin sodium, a polyether ionophore antibiotic produced by Streptomyces cinnamonensis. It is widely used in poultry and ruminant nutrition as a broad-spectrum anticoccidial agent and growth-promoting feed additive.
The 30% concentration is designed for feed mills and premix blenders, allowing accurate dilution into complete feed.
Mechanism of Action:
Anticoccidial: Interferes with Na⁺/K⁺ ion transport in coccidia cells. Large amounts of Na⁺ and water enter the parasite, causing osmotic imbalance, energy depletion, swelling, and rupture. Peak activity is against sporozoites and first-generation schizonts in the early lifecycle of Eimeria species;
Rumen modifier (cattle): Shifts rumen fermentation toward propionate production, reduces methane and ammonia loss, improves nitrogen utilization, and enhances feed efficiency;
Antibacterial: Inhibits certain Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Clostridium perfringens.
Applications & Indications:
Broilers / replacement pullets: Prevention and control of chicken coccidiosis (Eimeria tenella, E. acervulina, E. maxima, etc.).
Cattle (beef & calves): Control of bovine coccidiosis (E. bovis, E. zuernii); improved feed conversion and weight gain; reduction of liver abscess risk when combined appropriately.Sheep / goats / rabbits: Effective against selected species of coccidia (off-label depending on local registration).
Packaging & Storage:
Packaging: 25 kg / bag (PE inner bag + woven outer bag)
