Amprolium Hydrochloride water soluble powder

Amprolium Hydrochloride Water Soluble Powder (WSP) is a thiamine-analogue anticoccidial medication for poultry and livestock. It contains Amprolium Hydrochloride (CAS 137-88-2, C₁₄H₂₀Cl₂N₄, MW 315.24) as the active ingredient, formulated as a free-flowing, fully water-soluble powder for administration via drinking water. Common commercial strengths are 10%, 20%, and 30% WSP (equivalent to 100 mg/g, 200 mg/g, and 300 mg/g of Amprolium HCl respectively).
It is a direct substitute / generic equivalent of established brands such as Amprovine®, Amprol®, and Corid®, supplied as a cost-effective API-to-finished-WSP solution for veterinary distributors, poultry integrators, and animal-health formulators.
Mode of Action:
Amprolium HCl is a competitive antagonist of thiamine (Vitamin B₁). Eimeria species (coccidia) require active thiamine transport for carbohydrate metabolism and intracellular development. Amprolium mimics thiamine, blocks the parasite's thiamine-uptake pump, and starves the second-generation schizonts — interrupting the life cycle at the most vulnerable stage. Because the drug has very low affinity for host intestinal thiamine transporters (oral LD₅₀ in mice ~135 g/kg), it is practically non-toxic to treated birds and mammals and does not suppress the host immune response.
