Microcrystalline cellulose is a purified, partially depolymerized cellulose which occurs as a white, odorless, tasteless, crystalline powder. It is commercially available in different particle sizes and moisture grades that have different properties and applications.
It is widely used in pharmaceutical preparations,and used as adsorbent, suspending agent, tablet and capsule adhesive or diluent, can be used for wet granulation and dry direct compression. Microcrystalline cellulose also has certain lubricity and disintegration, it is a kind of excipient commonly used in tablet preparation. It can also be used as stabilizer and excipient in food industry and daily chemical industry.
